Darlo Drama Teacher / Tutor
Emily is an actor, writer, voice artist and director.
She currently teaches and directs for NIDA Open and Darlo Drama and has worked for Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse, Arena Theatre Company, Melbourne Playback (where she was also Artistic Director for two years), First Impressions Youth Theatre, The Art House Wyong and Options Theatre Company.
Emily has created multiple solo shows, winning a Green Room Award for her cabaret Hello You, and the Melbourne Fringe Tiki Tour Ready Award and NZ Fringe Best Solo Show Award for her critically acclaimed dark comedy Cannonball.
In 2022 Emily received a grant from The Art House Wyong and Create NSW to write Deep Water, a play set on the Central Coast of NSW. She received a second grant in 2023 and is currently developing a final draft whilst completing her Masters in Dramatic Writing at NIDA.
An actor with 20 years experience, Emily has appeared in a number of television programs including Get Krack!n, The Dr Blake Mysteries, It’s A Date and Underbelly. Stage highlights include a US tour of Meeting Mozart; Othello and Macbeth for Sport for Jove; a national tour of Grace Under Pressure and Meeting Mozart for the Sydney Opera House.
Emily is an MC, and has designed and facilitated sessions on presentation skills, conflict resolution, role play, leadership and team building for corporate, government, community and educational organisations, working both individually and as part of a team with Darlo Drama, Melbourne Playback, Spark and Impro Melbourne.
